Intelligence with provenance.

Every BriggsAnalytics signal is built around source-backed information. This page explains exactly how a public record becomes something worth acting on, and what we throw away along the way.

Public + Commercial DataGovernment databases, records, filings, procurement systems
Event DetectionNew records and meaningful changes, identified daily
Entity ResolutionEvents tied to properties, companies, owners and agencies
Commercial InterpretationWhat the event may mean within a specific market
Priority ScoringRelevance, freshness, timing and commercial significance

From fragmented information to actionable market intelligence.

01Collect

We monitor approved public, regulatory, property, procurement and commercial sources. In a live market that means every stream a city publishes: fire inspections, alarm and suppression incidents, building and trades permits, demolition filings, business licenses and liquor licenses.

We work from what a jurisdiction actually publishes in machine-readable form. Where a stream exists we read it. Where one does not, we say so rather than filling the gap with an estimate.

02Detect

The unit of value is change, not existence. We identify newly published records and meaningful changes to existing ones. A building that has been in a directory since 2019 is not news. A building cited last Tuesday is.

03Connect

Records arrive from different systems using different identifiers, and often different spellings of the same address. We resolve relationships between properties, businesses, owners, agencies and events so that four separate records land on one building rather than four unrelated rows.

This stage is where most of the value is created and most of the difficulty lives.

04Interpret

A record is not an opportunity. We determine what an event may mean inside a specific commercial market. A sprinkler certification lapse means something different to a suppression contractor than an elevator modernization permit does, even though both may generate detection work.

Interpretation is always market-specific, which is why we build a separate intelligence model per market rather than one generic score.

05Qualify

Every candidate signal is evaluated on relevance, freshness, timing, commercial significance and confidence. Most candidates fail. The point of the system is not to surface everything; it is to discard aggressively enough that what remains is worth a customer's attention.

Where the public record does not contain a field, we mark it not found. We do not infer an owner, and we do not fill a gap with a guess.

06Deliver

Qualified intelligence is matched to the customers and territories where it matters and delivered as a market brief, with the official record ID attached to every line.

Facts are distinguished from interpretation. Original source evidence is preserved wherever possible. If we tell you a building was cited, that is a fact with a record number. If we tell you it probably means a service contract is available, that is our read, and we label it as such.

What we will not do

We do not scrape private systems or buy consumer data. Public records only.
We do not invent a number. Every figure we publish traces to a named record with a retrieval date.
We do not guess at missing fields. Not found is an acceptable answer.
We do not forward raw record dumps and call it intelligence.

This is the whole basis of the business. A contractor who cannot verify our work has no reason to trust it, so we are built to be checked.
