Free tool · Closing a company
The day you cancel Slack, your company's history starts to go
When you shut down, every subscription you cancel takes years of work with it. Add your tools and end dates and get a countdown of when each one's history disappears, with what to export first.

How this works
Four steps, about as many minutes.
- Pick the tools the company uses.
- Add the date each subscription ends, or one date for all of them.
- See a countdown of when each system's history goes away.
- Add the dates to your calendar with a reminder a week before each one.

Shutting down has a clock most founders never see
When a company closes, the to-do list is long: tell the team, tell customers, pay the bills, file the paperwork. Somewhere in there, someone cancels the software. And the moment a subscription ends, the clock starts on years of work. Some tools cut access the same day. Some give you a few weeks. Some quietly delete history on a rolling schedule.
That history is often worth something. Companies closing down are among the most common sellers of records about how their work got done, and buyers pay the most while the email, chat and project history still exists. Once it is deleted, it is gone for good.
What this countdown does
It lines up each tool's own published rule against the date you plan to cancel, so you can see what goes first and export it in time. Every rule links to the vendor's own page, with the date we last checked. Where a vendor does not publish a rule, the countdown says so and tells you to export before you cancel.
The simple rule
Export everything at least a week before you cancel anything. Keep the exports together, labelled with the system and the date, in a place that will outlive the company's accounts.
Questions about this tool.
Can I just cancel everything on the last day?
You can, but some tools cut access the same day you cancel, so export first. Give yourself at least a week.
Where do these dates come from?
Each tool's own help pages or terms, linked under the result, with the date we last checked. Vendors change their rules, so confirm before you act.
Is the history worth anything once we are closed?
Often, yes. Closed companies license their records too, as long as the records still exist and the rights are clean. That is why exporting before you cancel matters.
Does this connect to our accounts?
No. It only uses the tools and dates you enter.
