About Briggs Analytics
Briggs Analytics helps U.S. business owners get paid for the business data they already have. A company that has run for years holds records of how its work actually got done: job files, support tickets, project history, account records. Companies now pay to license certain types of that history. Owners answer a few questions at briggsanalytics.com/estimate, see an estimated range in about two minutes, and decide whether to pursue it. The service is free for business owners, and no files are sent to find out. Briggs Analytics was founded in 2026 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Fact sheet
- Founded: 2026, Philadelphia, PA. Founder: Bristol Briggs.
- What it is: a free estimator and review service for owners of U.S. companies of any size or situation, from operating normally to winding down.
- What it costs the owner: nothing.
- What the owner sends to find out: answers to a few questions. No files, no logins.
- Who uses it: accounting and CPA firms, insurance agencies, mortgage and non-bank lenders, software companies (including recently closed or acquired ones), IT services and MSPs, law firms, roofing, HVAC and construction companies, call centers, logistics companies, manufacturers, staffing firms and other operating companies. Also accountants, M&A advisors, wind-down lawyers and business brokers on behalf of clients (for advisors).
- Market facts we cite, each linked to a primary source: Google won a court-run auction for Spirit Airlines' de-identified records with a $10 million bid in August 2026 (Business Insider); the court hearing on that sale was moved from October 14 to November 6, 2026 after 121 members of Congress asked for stronger protections for employee records (Travel Weekly); Reddit disclosed $203 million in data licensing contracts in its 2024 IPO filing (SEC filing).
- Estimates: every figure shown to an owner is a Briggs Analytics estimate, not an offer. A buyer sets the final price after its own review. No payout is guaranteed.
- Interviews: written Q&A preferred, same day. The founder is available by email.
Story ideas
- A check without selling the company. For decades the only way an owner turned years of work into a large check was to sell the business. In 2026 a second buyer appeared for a different asset: the company's operational data. The owner keeps the business and the customers.
- The third way to raise money. Alongside selling equity and taking on debt, a company with years of history in paid software tools can now license that history. No dilution, nothing to pay back. Our write-up.
- What the Spirit Airlines fight means for a normal company. A $10 million auction, 121 lawmakers, a delayed hearing. The same questions (what leaves, what gets removed, who approves) decide every deal a 40-person company signs. Our explainer, kept current.
- What owners are told about their own records. Which industries and systems carry value, what buyers turn down, and the terms an owner should read twice. How we estimate and what buyers reject.
