How this works
Four steps, about as many minutes.
- Type your company name.
- Tick everything that must never be included.
- Add anything else in your own words.
- Save or email yourself the finished one-page list.

The fear every owner has, answered on one page
The first thing most owners ask is whether they would be giving away their secrets. It is a fair question. Your customer list, your pricing and your margins are the business. Nobody serious asks for those, and you should never agree to include them.
What buyers want is how the work gets done: the back and forth on a job, how a problem got solved, how a decision got made. That can be licensed with the names, prices and private details left out. This list puts your lines in writing before any conversation starts, so there is never a question about what is off the table.
How owners use it
Some hand it over at the first meeting. Some attach it to their first email. Some just keep it in the drawer so the answer is ready when a partner, a lender or an employee asks. However you use it, it says the same thing: we decide what goes in, item by item, and these things never do.
You approve every item
Nothing is ever included without your OK. This page is your starting point, and you can add to it at any time.
Questions about this tool.
Will a buyer accept this list?
Serious buyers expect owners to leave out customer lists, pricing and private details. They want how work gets done, not who your customers are.
Can I add my own items?
Yes. Type anything else in the last box and it goes on the list in your words.
Is this a legal document?
No. It is a clear statement of your terms. Any agreement you sign should include the same exclusions, and your lawyer can make sure it does.
Does anyone see my list?
You see it right away. If you email it to yourself, Briggs Analytics gets a copy of the request and may follow up. Nothing is shared without your OK.
