The seller data inventory: the one-page list that gets you a faster, higher offer

Short answer: before any buyer can price your records, they need three things for every system you use: what it is, how many years you can export, and how much is there. Most owners can't answer that on the first call, so the deal stalls. Fill in the inventory below in about 20 minutes and you skip that stall. Start with the estimate, then build the inventory.

Why buyers ask for this

Buyers talk to dozens of sellers a day. The number one reason a deal stalls is that the owner can't describe the shape of their data, so nobody can put a number on it. One broker who works with these buyers every day says sellers who show up with this list move faster and get more attention. We've seen the same thing.

Add a line for anything else your team lives in. Leave out systems that hold your clients' own data: most buyers exclude it anyway.

What raises the number

What to do with it

Keep the inventory to one page. Don't attach exports or samples to anything until a buyer has agreed terms with you in writing. Then run the estimate, and we'll tell you which buyers fit the inventory you've got.

Briggs Analytics is independent. Some buyers named on this page may pay Briggs Analytics a referral fee, and owners never pay us anything. Every figure comes from the buyer's own page or the source linked next to it, checked October 22, 2026. Buyers change their terms often, so confirm on their page before you sign. Disclosures

In short

  • Buyers need three things per system: what it is, the years you can export, how much is there.
  • Owners who arrive with this list get priced faster and get more attention.
  • Same years across several systems beat deep history in one. Say when you switched tools.

Questions owners ask.

Do I need to send files to get an estimate?

No. The inventory is a list, not the data. Nothing leaves your systems until you've agreed terms in writing.

What if we switched chat tools?

Say so, and note the years in each. Buyers give full credit for the stretch where the trail is unbroken.

Should I include client files?

Usually no. Most buyers exclude data you hold on behalf of clients, and most client contracts limit it.
