Checked October 22, 2026. A minimum is a published rule, not a wall: buyers make exceptions for unusual records, and a published floor is not an offer.

Before you apply anywhere, check your fit with every buyer first. Once you apply to one buyer you are in its process. Our estimate takes about a minute, never asks for a file, and tells you which buyers your company fits. It costs nothing. See which buyers fit your company.

What small companies actually get paid

Replay is the only buyer that publishes a number by headcount: $10,000 to $100,000 for 20 to 50 staff. Jottings' lowest published band is $100,000 to $250,000 for an Illinois accounting firm. The reported median offer across the market is $336,000 (aidata.broker), and that median is mostly companies of 30 to 150 people. What a 10, 25 and 50-person company's data is worth.

What moves the number more than headcount

Years of records and connected systems. A 12-person firm with ten years of one system can out-earn a 40-person company with two years of five, and every buyer's page says some version of that. Walk in with the data inventory filled in and the size question gets smaller.
